Common Questions for your Massage Therapist

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

A common question we receive is what does my first session look like.  Well our standard session looks like this:

  1. Undress in massage room to your comfort level. (~5 min.)
  2. Inform our massage therapist what your pain points or areas of soreness are.
  3. After a few minutes of the massage, we’ll address a pressure check to ensure that you’re care is as effective as possible!
  4. The rest of the massage continues as planned!  If you have multiple pain points, please let our massage therapists know so that we can ensure that your personalized massage is both effective and also touching all of the areas needed to decrease your pain and soreness that you’ve come to us for! (~55 min.)
  5. If you’d be kind enough to leave us a review on Google we’d love to treat you to a cup of coffee!

Massages can be beneficial for people of all ages!  There is no minimum age for massages as our expert massage therapists have worked on everyone from seniors to infants.  All that is needed is an approval from the parents of the child!

Massages are also available to everyone regardless of situation to help with alleviating pain or muscle soreness, however a few extreme circumstances such as intense burns, rashes and broken bones are (medical situations) that our therapists can’t work with to ensure the safety of both you and our staff.

  • Deep Tissue: Is a focused therapeutic massage that targets muscle knots and adhesion.  This massage style is useful for chronic tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or injuries.  Deep Tissue targets the inner layer of your muscles, tendons, fascia, or dense C.T.  This is a firm touch with a variety of techniques including trigger point therapy and myofascial release.
  • Swedish: Is a gentle relaxing style that incorporates the 5 basic massage strokes.  It aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.  This massage leaves the body feeling relaxed along with improving muscle tone endurance and circulation.
  • Reflexology:  Is a massage technique that involves applying pressure to specific points on the hands and feet to produce changes in pain and other benefits elsewhere in the body.
  • Hot Stones:  The warmth of the smooth stones is very relaxing and helps release tension in the muscles.  The benefits of hot stone include relieving muscle tension and pain as well as reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Prenatal: Pregnancy massage is customized to the expectant mother’s needs but is most often used to promote relaxation.  Prenatal massage is a safe way to provide relief from pregnancy stress.  Perfect for a mom-to-be!
  • A massage can help your body and wellness in multiple different ways!  The most common benefits can be found below!

    • Improved Circulation
    • Detox
    • Decreased Blood Pressure
    • Lymphatic Drainage
    • Flexability

Massages at your average spa are often more interested in charging you for every little adjustment, however at NuVision Health Center we are more interested in your enhanced well being and ensuring that your care is out top priority.  With that in mind our gua sha, hot towels, hot stones, aromatherapy and massage gun are all complimentary and included with every massage that you get scheduled!

Our standard massages are 60 min. sessions.  However if you would like to extend your session out to 90 minutes that is definitely possible to do when scheduling your slot!
